BEHOLD OUR NEW CBN GOVERNOR

Godwin Emefelie Zenith bank boss has been confirmed as the new CBN governor by the senate. The senate approved the appointment on 26th march after his appearance before lawmakers that was broadcasted live on television. Godwin Emefelie will be replacing Sanusi who was suspended by President Goodluck Jonathan on February 20, days after he had accused the state oil company of embezzling $20 billion (14.5 billion euros) of public funds. According to Senate President David Mark “Emefiele will ensure the prerequisite responsibilities of the Central Bank governor without fear or favour.” Sanusi had been respected among international economists and was appluaded for repairing our crumbling and corrupt banking sector and stabilising the currency. Some Nigerians see his suspension as a politically ploy by our leaders on him for trying to expose the corruption in the country. We wish him success in the execution of his duty to Nigerians
